How to Bake an Awesome Ham




I personally like to buy the Superior Tavern ham because I like it to be boneless. This one in particular has a very good taste to it.

Put your oven on 350 degrees and let it heat while you are preparing your food.

The first thing you want to do is wash the ham really good to get the excess fat off of it. Then I take it and put it into a roaster pan. The next thing I do is take whole cloves and put them all over including all the sides. When you get all the cloves on that you want, fill the pan about 3/4 complete of water. It will not overflow while cooking, but will keep the ham moist because you are going to be baking it for a few hours.

Put the pan in the oven and let it cook for about 8 1/2 hours to 9 hours. I know this seems like a long time, but in cooking it this long the fat and salt are drawn out of the ham. Your meat will get dark on the outside, but it will not burn the inside. at the minimum my never has.

When the ham is done you will have to cut the outside skin off of it because of the darkness color while cooking. Then as you take it out of the roaster pan you will notice that it shreds into pieces. You don’t have to slice it as you typically would. You just put the shredded ham onto your platter and it is ready to eat. It should not taste salty or have a fatty taste to it. It should be tender and delicious.
